New Schools at Del Sur in Poway Unified School District

Del Sur is the home of Del Sur Elementary School, an 81,000-square-foot facility on 10 acres that will eventually accommodate 800 students, and Del Norte High School, a 210,093-square foot campus on 62 acres, that will eventually accommodate 2,250 students in grades 9 through 12.

Del Sur Elementary School - Del Sur Elementary broke ground in May 07 and welcomed its new students and faculty in August 2008. A few features of the CHPS (Collaborative for High Performance School) are:

Multipurpose room with stage for school and community use
Athletic field, basketball courts and play structures
Interactive educational mall and computer lab
20% of energy will come from satellite controlled high efficiency irrigation system.

Del Norte High School - Del Norte broke ground in May 07 and will welcome new students August 2009.

45 standard classrooms, 12 science labs, 5 art labs, 2 music classrooms, 5 special education classrooms, 11 vocational classrooms.
Fine Arts Village: Blends traditional media of visual arts, drama, and music with emerging electronic trends.
Physical Education Village: Competitive size gym, weight and training rooms, shower and locker facilities, aerobic and dance rooms, outdoor stadium and sports field, swimming pool.
School-wide data and video-capable multimedia network will allow any work station on campus to access a central database of information to share relevant software or to access the Internet.
