A historic neighborhood
whose own story is just beginning.
We Rediscovered San Diego’s Heritage
It took years of studying San Diego’s great historic neighborhoods to arrive at this one. Coronado. Kensington. Mission Hills. Banker’s Hill. Point Loma. We walked them all to uncover the details that make these neighborhoods so distinctive, so treasured. Then we used those details as inspiration to create a place unlike others built today.
To Build the Story of Del Sur Today
Here, you’ll find hand-painted tiles, handcrafted ironwork and one-of-a-kind metal detailing. As in the older neighborhoods of San Diego, each paseo in Del Sur is landscaped with its own variety of trees. And Del Sur’s Haaland Glen Bridge features a style of hand laid stonework used more than a century ago.
We went to great lengths to make Del Sur feel like an established community from the very beginning. Our trees are years beyond saplings. Our streetlights are reminiscent of the city’s famous gaslamps. Even our sidewalks feel older than you’d expect – custom-colored an earthy shade as if they already had decades of stories to tell.
And better yet, the Del Sur of Tomorrow
And while we look back, we are also looking forward. Del Sur is an example for sustainable developments everywhere. When completed, Del Sur will be one of the largest solar-powered communities in California. Water-saving measures like tank-less water heaters and weather-based irrigation will potentially save up to 40,000 gallons of water per home per year. And approximately 60% of Black Mountain Ranch’s 4,677 acres will forever remain open space for Del Sur residents to enjoy.
Del Sur is a community inspired by the past with the future in mind. A place you, your children and your children’s children can enjoy for years to come. |
